TEAM LEADER (LEGAL & POLICY)
WELLINGTON
Privacy and data protection is a rapidly developing field internationally. Privacy protection in the ‘information century’ covers issues as diverse as biometrics, DNA, social networking on the internet, government data sharing, money laundering and smart cards.
This position provides the opportunity to use your legal skills in resolving the challenges found at the intersection of management, law, policy and human rights. You will be working with business, civil society and government representatives on a wide range of information management, government and health issues.
You will be leading our Legal and Policy Team to analyse proposed legislation, provide policy and legal advice, prepare reports, develop codes of practice, and carry out research. You will enjoy the challenge of finding balanced solutions to a wide range of privacy issues.
You will have skills or experience in managing the work of a team to complement your analytical, research and legal skills. You will have excellent oral and written communication skills, and an interest in public policy and privacy issues. An inquiring mind, sound judgment and the ability to work effectively under pressure are also required.
