If you have a complaint about a breach of your privacy, you can now lodge it online with us. “Making privacy easy” is what we try to do and it has become something of a motto for us. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to get the information you need, and for you to engage with us when you need to. Our online complaint form is intended to do just that.
We use end-to-end encryption to help ensure that your complaint is securely transmitted to us. We ask for the same information in the online form as we do if you submit a complaint to us in any other way. You can upload documents in support of your complaint and you will be able to print a copy of your submission for your records.
Online lodgement is the fastest and easiest way for you to lodge a complaint with us. If it doesn’t suit you (and there will be circumstances when it won’t), you can still contact us in other ways. You can download the complaint form from our website to complete and return to us, write to us, or call our enquiries line on 0800 803 909.
If you are not sure if a Privacy Act complaint is right for your circumstances, check the Frequently Asked Questions section on our website, or call us on our enquiries line. We are here to help.
We are also developing other ways for you to easily engage with us online. This includes new guidance material – everything from online learning tools to practical privacy help for individuals, businesses and government agencies.
We will always tell you about our new features in our blog posts and on our homepage. But instead of having to regularly check back in to see what’s new and helpful to you, you can subscribe to our Privacy News digest. It’s a fortnightly email newsletter that brings you our latest news, guidance and tools directly into your mailbox. That way, you won’t ever miss out. And it may make privacy easier for you!
