About OPC

A Statement of Intent (SoI) is an outline of what we're going to do over a short period of time. Here we map out our business priorities and why we're doing those things. Our SoIs are listed below in reverse chronological order.

To make privacy a core focus, over the next four years we will achieve four objectives:

We will advocate for and empower people and communities who are more likely to be vulnerable to serious privacy harm.
We will provide direction and guidance to agencies that makes our expectations clear.
We will use our investigation and compliance powers to hold agencies to account for serious privacy harm.
We will take account of te ao Māori perspectives on privacies.
